Is it a Ashy Minvet? Or, a Swinhoe's Minvet?

Looks like a Swinhoe's to me when and where was it taken

More photos would be good but I think it has some features of Long-tailed, and re Swinhoe's it just looks too yellow.

We certainly need a place and date though.

May it be Rosy Minivet(Stanfordii)?

Looks like a Grey Wagtail to me.

No seriously, I think an immature Rosy Minivet either nominate or [i]stanfordii[/i] must be a strong possibility (let's wait for some expert comment) but as hybrids are said to occur, I guess it will be difficult.

Maybe I will have to queue for the ferry tomorrow.

Surely it cannot be a Rosy Minivet as it lacks a very obvious red wing bar?!  Or am In missing something.  It is obviously a first-winter, but don't first winter Rosy Minivets also have an obvious red wing (same for Long-tailed BTW!)?

Do you mean yellow wing-bar?

There is some yellow on the wing and I'm not sure whether all immature birds have a wing-bar.
Birds of the Thai-Malay Peninsular suggests that some immatures 'show juvenile type tertials and inner secondaries with their coverts boldly tipped and edged white' - whatever juveniles are like. You are the expert so maybe you can comment.

If it's not a Rosy or Long-tailed Minivet, then what is it? It seems rather yellow for either Ashy or Swinhoe's.

Yes, yellow wing bar (red on males).  Sorry, meant to type yellow, the point being that Rosy Minivets have obvious wing bars at rest which Ashy and Swinhoe's both lack.

So on this basis, obviously not a Rosy.

However, clearly an odd bird, but I would think that this is a Swinhoe's showing yellow in the plumage for some reason (perhaps either a plumage abnormality or due to some Rosy Minivet genes).
