It looks like a Buff-bellied pipit to me. The greyish back, two patches of black streak on two side of its neck. May be these are not very good indicators to id this bird, and any comment is appreciated=]

I'd go for Red-throated, the yellow on the base of bill is a good indicator i find, though this looks like a rather dark individual.

The grey (rather plain c.f. Red-throated Pipit) back, white underparts, white supercilium flared behind the eye and pale loral area indicate that this is Buff-bellied Pipit. I agree that in this photo the basal area of the bill appears pale - although I'm not sure I'd describe it as yellowish.

Pipits are, of course, not easy to id - all of them, to an extent, are rather non-descript, brown-streaked jobs. Buff-bellied Pipit (in autumn/winter) is more "grey and white" than other species - a feature that is clear, I think, in this photo and the photos in the "Buff-bellied Pipit" thread below.

Thanks David for the correction!!

Actually, I'm wrong about the bill. Buff-bellied Pipit can often show a pale yellow base to the bill - see the Photographic Guide...

The photos in the Guide show how much warmer R-t Pipit appears c.f. the cold tones of Buff-bellied (in autumn/winter)
