Thanks Tony.... just wondering if is a 1st winter female..... although they are common, I have never seen one before.

I think I am right in saying that all of the recorded [i]Turdus[/i] thrushes in HK will not have pale tips to the coverts in adult plumage except Chinese Thrush.(Note this is not true for Zootheras or Rock Thrushes.)From your fab picture , the greater coverts appear pale tipped in keeping with your suggestion that this is a first winter bird.

Hasn't been back since..... but hoping.
So far over the last week have photographed 8 different Thrushes in my garden.. although on Tuesday think I had a 'fall-out" and have no idea how many landed in my pond that day. Feeling quite honoured.
