Collared Scops Owl
Never feel tired when we're finding the owls.
Besides watching a lovely scops owl, we were able to hear Magpie Robins and a Slaty-legged Crake.
The listening condition in Tai Tam at night is really good. 355157bcf7a3445

I saw one last evening as well. Fantastic photo. I don't have a "reasonable" camera. There were 4 - 5 calling on Mount Davis Path.

Thanks all. I'm not skillful enough and still need to learn from John and Jemi , you two are experienced owls lovers3551em012445
Peter and I visited Lung Fu Shan tonight , more than 7 collared scops owls were heard and one was seen flying. We found that some owls called in a high pitch while some produced a low pitch calling.
Can we know their sex by listening ?3551lol445
Also , we saw an unknown mammal .. which looks like a civet , with a long barred tail.( Small Indian Civet ? )3551a50445 3551sweat445

At what time would these owls appear? Do you need flash in your cameras or torchlights to see them?
Besides, an above comment mentioned the idea of night-time outings. I hope it would be taken to consideration.
