You can download the file to hear the call.
Date: 2012.1.17
Time: 10:22 p.m.
Place: A park between Kwun Tong and Ngau Tau Kok
From my experience of an internship at a local organization, I suspect this is a collar scoped owl.
But I am even not sure that whether it is an owl or not. 3551cf742eb3445

I think you are right, it is indeed a Collared Scops Owl.

Thank you.
I want to ask if this species is common in urban area ?

Still hear it tonight, but I still cannot find any owls.
I suspect there are 2 of them.
How come they appear in urban area ?

Thanks, Mike.
It is not here now.
From the Avifauna in Hong Kong, it says the collar scoped owl will "migrate locally".
By the way, I wonder if there is any records of owls in Victoria Park asa I will be there a few times?
