How are you?
It's quite a surprise that [b][size=4][color=Purple]you've found a Ferruginous duck [/color][/size][/b]at such a date, though MP's and around is the
best area for finding one.
Look at the eye and undertail coverts. They are white. Plus overall chestnut brown. In 'A Field Guide to
the Birds of Japan' it's [b][size=4][color=Purple]also called White-eyed Pochard[/color][/size][/b].

It seems to be in perfect condition though at this date would seem likely to be an escape.
