Probable Wood Warbler at Tai O
An interesting
warbler was seen at Tai O this morning that I strongly suspect of being Wood Warbler [i]Phylloscopus sibilatrix[/i]. There are no previous HK records. It was in the trees at the Christian Zheng Sheng Centre on the north side of Tai O Island.
It was seen at about 0740 for a couple of minutes and looked for over the next hour without being seen again. These trees are a spot where arriving migrants rest before moving on into better cover, so I think its unlikely the bird will be in the same area - especially as several Yellow-browed Warblers seen at the same time also moved off.
