Probably a long-toed stint
This shining bird grouped with a herb of wood sandpipers in a lily pond at Long Valley on April 7th. It is a bit smaller than the sandpipers, wearing a reddish-brown cap, the darker tertials decorated with bright orange fringes. It looks outstanding among the sandpipers. Probably it is a long-toed stint.

this is a Long-toed Stint, STS would show a more rufous crown, a stronger bill...
Habitat is also good for LTS, they're often seen in same habitat as Wood Sandpiper...
