Garganey at a race
Two garganey individuals lined-up for a swimming contest on a pond in Long Valley on March 18th. They pressed their breasts submerged their bills and paddled in duck style below the water line. The garganey at the front defeated its competitor by split seconds. It was a wonderful game to watch.
