I think that it is a greater sand plover rather than lesser.

Plover ?
I'd go for [b]Lesser Sand Plover[/b], as captioned. This bird has a small-looking bill and there is a dark line (I think) between the red on the breast and the white of the throat.

Thanks for correcting me,agree that it is a lesser, I overlook the very pale dark line.

As well as the points from John H, note that the breast band is a fairly dark brick-red (Greater would be paler and more orange-toned) and the upperparts have a grey tone (Greater would be sandier).
The first photo also shows dark grey-brown marks on the rear flanks - this is diagnostic of [i]mongolus/stegmanni [/i]Lesser Sand Plover and is not shown by other sand plovers.
