Sunbird and the ivory coral tree
A lady fork-tailed sunbird perched on an ivory coral tree in the afternoon of March 19th at Taipokou. It pressed its head inward to the scarlet long tubular petals to pull out a tiny thread and swallowed it whole. The ivory coral tree provides every necessity to the sunbird.

The 'tiny thread' you refer to is it's tongue.

The bird must be too hungry and ate its own tongue.3551485c3a61445
