All photographs were taken on 30 May 2015 at Mai Po.
Baits were used (by the father).  Bird calls were used (by a birder who whistled at the mother).

The photographs were taken when the chicks were less than a week old.  Some birders told me that they were only one or two days' old.  It is amazing to see that they already learnt to walk in shallow water and knew to push closest to the father's bill in order to have a better chance of getting the food from the father.

they hatched on the morning of the 29/05, and they were already jumping in front of the father to get food on that afternoon .. in fact, like the Black Winged Stilts, the chicks were swimming within hours of hatching!

Thank you for the updated photos.  It is amazing that the chicks grow so fast - almost same size as their father in less than a month!

After showing the Father and the Chicks, it it time to show the Mother suspect.
The female GPS was seen in the same morning at Mai Po, near the Father and the Chicks.
