Jiudingshan, Mao County, Sichuan 四川茂縣九頂山

Visited a small village (above 2,000m) at Jiudingshan for a couple of days while my friends were making their preparations to hike to the summit(about 5,000m)for the highland bird species (Chinese Monal etc.) and mammals.

I guess some interesting birds can be found on the upper part of the hill.
Many thanks for your kind sharing

Wcaptain, you're welcome.
Yes, my friends ended up with 25 bird species over a 3-day period around the summit, including Chinese Monal, Tibetan Snowcock, Chestnut-throated Partridge, Golden Eagle etc. Unfortunately I was not physically fit to trek with them over the steep trail to the summit, even though some villagers were employed to carry the necessary supply.

Interesting birds in that area.... it just shows that it's always worth it to look at new places !
