Any more details about location and date?
mguy 3/08/2015 14:31
Yes of course (apologies, not done this for a while)
Was taken yesterday at about 17:00 & the bird was flying about 500 mtrs away from the "wind turbine" on Lamma Island (Hill name not known)
Was first seen having a tussle with a Black-eared Kite which appeared much larger.. the BEKite eventually left the area
Nikon d7000 Nikkor 300,, f/4 from about 500mtrs

It's an Accipiter. I think it's a Besra, but not absolutely sure, and it could be Crested Goshawk.

Also need help, Besra or Crested Goshawk?

No sign of a crest, square-ended tail, size doesn't seem too large - all suggests this one is a Besra. It's also more likely than Crested Gos at Mai Po.

Thx for explanation, hope I can distinguish them next time.
I can identify Crested Gos only when I see the prominent white undertail coverts.

Thank you for help... judging by size of the bird in my pics as compared to the BE Kite... it wld suggest it to be a Besra... will keep an eye out for it
