It's harsh to have field visit in LV in the summer!
Only resident bird species left in LV. Today should be the most birdy field visit in June.
Chinese Pond Heron (a juv was seen)
Little Egret

Night Heron
White-breasted Waterhen (with chicks)
White Wagtail
Long-tailed Shrike
Crested Myna (plenty)
plus other common species

LV became more birdy than last month.
Wood Sandpiper and Yellow Wagtail were returned last week.
Paddy rice attracted several dozens munias (both spotted and white-rumped).
A Checkered Keelback (漁游蛇) was seen in shallow water habitat #176 today! :shock:

2 White-breasted Waterhen were spotted on the wet agricultural land (#242).
I'm sorry for making mistake that the yellow wagtail mentioned in the above post is actually white wagtail juv.

one Yellow Bittern was seen yesterday (26-7-07).

A Pintail Snipe was recorded on 18 July 2007, which is probably the earliest autumn record (The earliest record stated in Avifauna of Hong Kong is 7 August in 1993).
