Thank Peter for reporting. Here is the Eastern Crowned Warbler on 2017-09-19 for record purpose.

Peter, do you have more photos of the cuckoo?  It looks more like Asian Lesser than 'Oriental'.

edyip1999 25/09/2017 11:51

And one of the blue rock thrushes (f) taken in Sep 19

5 probably Saunders Gulls on way to Po Toi

edyip1999 11/10/2017 22:29

Two more photos for identifying these five seabirds

wgeoff 12/10/2017 16:11

I think these are Saunders Gulls in winter plumage.

The flight is rather tern-like, the upper wing is very pale grey with only black tips to the primaries contrasting with the darker under-wing primaries, the legs are darkish, the bill is dark and there is a dark spot behind the eye just visible on one bird on another of KK's photos not shown here.

To my knowledge these are the first records of Saunders Gull in SE waters although I may be wrong and it shouldn't be a surprise. But like Black-headed Gull, they seem rather rare in SE waters. I never saw any Saunders or Black-headed Gulls when sea-watching from Po Toi.

Surely these are Gull-billed terns?  They certainly don't have the wing-tip pattern of Saunder's Gull.  it would also be quite an early date for Saunder's Gull.
