I think this is a female House Sparrow. It is only the sixth Hong Kong record although it has occurred at Long Valley in the autumns of 2012, 2015, 2017, 2018. Also a new earliest date, the previous being two males at Mai Po on 27 October 2015.

Just to set the record straight, I believe I made a mistake here and that the bird in the photograph is, in fact, a female Russet Sparrow!!
