I do not understand why both of them have a large swelling below the throat. Moreover, they often stuck out their tongues like dogs probably due to the very hot weather.

I think the large bulges below the throat are simply because the birds have had a big meal and still have food in the crop

I don't fully understand why birds sometimes have this big pouch on the throat. Sometimes I have doult whether this is really a meal, because the position do not exactly the stomach position. I could imagine that this is made of air.
