unknown callling sound ?.......Asian Barred Owlet
I don't know is it a bird or not ?
I think it's a bit similar to Oriental Scops Owl

It's difficult to be sure from the attached file but I think it might be Asian Barred Owlet. One of the calls for ABO includes a two-note pattern gradually speeding up, similar to the call here. The calls usually get progressive higher and more 'excited' - I can't hear this on the attached file but it may be due to the quality of the recording.

I agree with John Allcock - the recording is an Asian Barred Owlet.

There's been an ABO around the Mai Po Car Park for at least the last 4 weeks, so a good chance your mystery call is from this bird. Bena.
