Peregrine, Japanese Sparrowhawk, E Marsh Harrier and Kestrel at the south end
Ruff on 16/17

Sunday morning

There were at least 4 Black-naped Orioles, and a Black-winged Cuckooshrike, plus 20 Bee-eater sp. (at 1am over pond 11).
Also 2 Shoveler with the Teal and Garganey at the Boardwalk, plus 4 Eastern Curlew

Saw a Great Crested Grebe (鳳頭鷿鷉) at Deep Bay at noon time of 4-Oct-09 from bird hide of Board Walk.

I forgot to say that my real highlight on Sunday was seeing a [b][i]Leopard Cat[/i][/b].  It walked along the border fence road at the edge of pond 16/17 at about 9am.  As it was walking away from me I had time to get the scope on it and got great views as it walked along the road and checked out the grassy edge every so often. Just my second view in 16 years in Hong Kong - fantastic!

Apparently a Yellow-browed Bunting was trapped at Mai Po today.

The Yellow-browed Bunting was seen, not trapped, near Education Centre by the ringing group.
Also seen was a Wryneck calling at reed bed and a Dark-sided Flycatcher, all were around EC.
A Japanese Quail was also spotted at marsh area behind the freshwater pond at Pond 16/17.
While only common birds was trapped in the same area, bird watching is more rewarding than bird ringing...
