Message from Vietnam

Hello,

I was wondering if you could help me with a quick query. I am carrying out some research in the ornamental bird markets in Hanoi, Vietnam and am also planning to visit the songbird markets in Hong Kong to compare the markets in the two locations. It seems that the main bird market in Hong Kong is at the bird gardens on Yuen Po Street, do you know of any other areas in Hong Kong that sell ornamental/song birds?

Any help or information you may be able to provide would be much appreciated,

Many thanks
Kelly Edmunds

There are single shops in every district and is hard to tell all the locations.

An University of HK postgraduate student in 2005-2006 did a bird market survey in HK. Her thesis may be of high reference value to you.

Dear Kelly,

You are right, the main bird market in Hong Kong is at the bird gardens on Yuen Po Street.  You can visit there any time.  A half-day walk should be enough for you to collect data for your study.
