I think so. But I saw it at Kam Tin!
Is it possible?

Blue Rock Thrushes can be present in many habitats.

TOP

Oh, I see. I should read more.

Thanks!

Definitely a Blue Rock Thrush. They can be seen occasionally at some locations in Kam Tin, where man-made structures (buildings or the railway viaduct) take the place of natural cliffs.

TOP

Common around town and village buildings with old fashioned tiled roofs in other parts of Guangdong and Guangxi too - again it seems an ideal man-made substitute for (or addition to) natural rocky habitats.

Yes, that is also a Blue Rock Thrush.
It seems to have no red below and fairly bright blue colour, which suggests it may be a male pandoo, the less common subspecies in Hong Kong (most are philippensis). Congratulations

There is another one wintering in Lam Tsuen at Ha Tin Liu Ha - that one is a male philippensis.

I also saw one on the Cultural Centre in TST last winter.

Cheers
