Tree Conservation and Management Seminar
Trees Our Asset – The Challenges of Tree Conservation and Management
1. Background
Trees are an inseparable part of our society; they grow in gardens, parks, campus and other
open spaces. With a growing environmental awareness of the people in Hong Kong, the
healthy growth of trees and their impact on the environment have become a major concern of
our society. It is an arduous task to strike a balance between tree conservation and
management, especially in a densely congested living environment. This seminar shall
therefore provide a platform for professionals, experts, academics and practitioners to share
their views and experiences in arboriculture.
