HKBWS become Birdlife International partner?
For a long time, HKBWS is an affiliate of Birdlife International. Now I think it is time for HKBWS to consider becoming partner. The difference between a partner and affiliate and a partner is that:
1. Partner need to contribute a small annual fee (about HK$10,000) to partner for conservation purposes.
2. Partner is eligible to become council member, for example, council of Birdlife Asia division.
Once being a partner, HKBWS will become more involve in regional (E Asia) issues. HKBWS will be most interested in activities in China, but are also interested in bird conservation in the whole region.
I hope members can think about this issue, and raise your opinion. We will discuss this in the coming AGM, and hopefully we can reach a general consensus.
