德國製的鏡頭應該差不到那裏，雖然我巳經有了Leica的10X42 與8X32 ，我也準備落order買一個BV8x42BR作為備用。我喜歡它的視野比較寬 (7.4度)，而最近的對焦距離衹有1.2米，與有些同級的日木牌子比較，雖然價錢比較貴多百多ニ佰元，我還覺得是比較優勝。至於10倍還是8倍好，是個人選擇，有trade off的，８倍視野比較寬(7.4度 Vs 10倍的6.5度)，但倍數較細。以我現時用Leica的經驗，個人喜觀8倍，在大埔滘觀鳥非常好用，揾雀同對焦都很快，但在米埔，卻又不太覺得它與10倍的望遠鏡有很大的分別。希望將來買的BV8x42BR也是如此。希望資料對你有幫助。

其實我想買一個8倍的望遠鏡,10倍在林區不太好用..現在就是在考慮olympus 的8x42 EXWP I還是minox的BV8x42BR, 可惜沒有機會拿來比較 (現在用學校借的olympus 10x42 EXWPI)

今天我得到一個非常資深的觀鳥人士(他也買了BV8x42BR)的意見如下：
Yes, I think the Minox is better than the Olympus. It is a good one on the price of $1580. However, I recently find that Olympus is not very long lasting as people have started to find problems on the Olympus which were bought two or three years ago.
From the material of the Minox, I expect there will be same problem of it.
再者,雖然Olympus比較輕(650g Vs 780g))和便宜(約HK$1,400)，但它的視野比較窄 (6.3度)，而最近的對焦距離是3米，規格上遠遠比不上Minox (7.4度和1.2米)。

My husband and I bought two pairs of Olympus binoculars 9 months ago.  Both of them got some problems already.  I brought them back to service centre for repair as they are still under guarantee period.  I was much disppointed by getting a reply that no maintenance service could be provided.  I shall write to the Headquarter in Japan to lodge a complaint.

訂購表格可以從 "Special Offer of Minox Binoculars" post at 21/07/2008處下載，填妥表格加上支票寄到或親臨觀鳥會新地址遞交便可以。
我上星期五剛買了一個BV8x42BR，以HK$1,580的價錢，雖然可能俾曰本牌子略重，但品質非常滿意。很光，差不多要帶太陽鏡來减光 (一笑而已)。
