BFS caught in fishing line
This bird was first spotted on 16/17 around 09:45 on the 13 Dec 2015 .. he left his flock and moved on to a nearby island to throw himself about, trying to remove the line which is tied around his bill and also around his neck (as shown in the two images).. but in vain. Before I had the chance to report this to the ACFD or the WWF, the bird was flushed by incoming Greater Spotted Eagle.
Although I cannot be certain where he might have obtained the fishing line,.. I do believe that it was quite recent as he was still furiously trying to remove the line before tiring and then being flushed. And all morning we saw no BFS in distress since we arrived Hide 6 and then 5 at 06:45 this morning. I suspect that the line got caught during his stay on 16/17 and between 06:45 and 09:45.
Something must be done about this ..
