E個島星期六日好熱鬧...水面又有鈎魚朋友....水低又有潛水人仕...但我在21-7-2007依然見到有超過一百隻Bridled Tern 褐翅燕鷗在上空飛

仍然記得多年前與政府部門爭取積極保護燕鷗繁殖地時，一位官員回應說：「九龍公園有咁多遊人，重有咁多雀到，見唔到有何干擾呀。」
我對他的說話及見識感到十分失望！

相信大家會明白我點解會感到失望！*c* ......

漁護署在燕鷗島划出界線，勸喻遊人不要進入騷擾雀鳥，但是有人卻置之不理，燕鷗飛近抗議亦慒然不知。
AFCD have marked out a boundary which visitors are advised not to enter, but it has no effect on some people.  They were not even aware that the terns were protesting.



而這處原是燕鷗的理想營巢地點。
And this is in fact an ideal nesting site.

此君只稍為移動一下，沒有遠離。
He only budged a little.

talk :可是，另又有觀鳥人士認為，有關人員駐守碼頭也會干擾燕鷗，真可謂「做又罵，不做又罵」。

我們一直建議在繁殖季節將燕鷗島列為禁區，
直接了當，不再含糊。
讓要執法的可以理直氣壯，
讓想登島的可以死心。

派人駐守總比沒人理好，
不過從以上情況看來還可以多做一點。

請問你有甚麼建議呢？

We have been proposing to close the island during the breeding season.
It gives a clear and direct message that would help enforcement of the law and would also dash the hope of those who want to land.

Having a warden on site is better than nothing,
but from the above photos it seems more could be done.

Based on the photos, it looks likely the prime breeding area on the island is still disturbed by the presence of anglers as there is no buffer area between the core area and the fishing zone. It is called the edge effect.

If the number of birds on the island drops continually, the authority concerned should review and strengthen the practice, e.g. designating the island as no-go area during the breeding season.

There are plenty of islets in HK for fishing but just few for terns to breed. Who should get the priority? anglers or terns or even the photographers?

可否在宣傳入手 ?!
在相片中的他們.....已經看得出他們早有準備,坐船遠行.本想釣魚為樂(我不是幫他們說好話)上了島,叫他們離開當然不是味兒.....
香港可以釣大魚的地方多的是..如果他們知道多一點,可能選址會有點改變....也許..........
可以把有關資料告訴船家嗎 ?

謝謝意見！

要向釣友宣傳便要公開燕鷗島位置，
但是在未有充足的保護措施之前，
還是不要公開燕鷗島的位置較好，
公開了便難保有更多人登島干擾。

相信大多數的釣友都是守法的，
而且志不在燕鷗。

如果仍然容許人在繁殖季節登島，
永遠都會有人僱船前往，
船家也不會有生意不做。
