My name is wood sandpiper.  I do not particular associate much with the woodland except maybe in breeding seasons.  Rather I enjoy open areas such as wet paddy fields, brackish water ponds, swamps and irrigation channels.  I took a stroll in this muddy marshland in Long Valley in the afternoon of December 26th 2012 to hunt for aquatic insects, their larvae, worms, spiders, crustaceans, gastropod molluscs or even small fish.
