I had a quick visit to India last week.  One of the local photographers took me out to the Okhla Bird Park http://www.okhlabirdpark.com/obp.html
and and some farmland villages.  It was a great day although the pollution levels around Delhi are very high and make photography difficult.  I also was able to do some bird photography around the grounds of our hotel in Udaipur.  
India has 1300 bird species so everywhere you go there are lots of birds.
