[Oversea] Bohol Bird Watching Brief Report (w/ photo)

Bohol Bird Watching Brief Report (w/ photo)

Bird watching date: 27 Sept - 30 Sept
Brea covered
Raja Sikatuna Protected Landscape (RSPL); Loboc Protected Forest; Bilar (Chocolate hill, Butterfly Garden)

Being first time bird watching in Philippines, lifers are everywhere for us. In the forest area the bird density is rather low, but we fortunately ticked most of the Visayas endemic species. Bird watching or even hiking facilities is rather humble in RSPL. We hired bird watching guide Ryan to arrange the trip whom found us many local endemic species. Tourist supporting facilities in the area is not bad, as Bohol is a developed tourist point.

Unless you want to dig out every species in the forest, otherwise 2 to 3 days is more than enough for you to discovery the RSPL. Other than RSPL, it seems no other good forest in Bohol for bird watching.

Although it is not a bad place for bird watching, we have no reason to go back again, as we have already got most of the important endemic.

Sounds like you saw some great birds. For future reference, do you have a way of contacting Ryan?
With kind regards.
