Some photos of this male bird, taken on Thursday at Po Toi. Looking into the sun at first, and then against a dark background, my photographic skills were not good enough so the photos are much poorer than they should be.

I only saw it briefly in the area above the Upper School at about 10.30am, before the ferry arrived. It was very noisy, making scolding sounds, which is how I managed to pick it up.

It seemed to be moving through, from east to west. With birds like this, you just have to be lucky to be in the right place at the right time.

Which just goes to show how many good birds must be missed on Po Toi.
