Litter Egret at a chase
A litter egret landed on a lily pond in Long Valley in the afternoon of Feb 14th. Deliberately goose up his yellow-toed right leg in the mid air, he stared at the water in front of him for a prolonged period. Two narrow elongated nape feathers unfolded behind his head. Without a warning he ejected his neck to the front to catch a tiny fish just under the water surface. He acts in such a lightning speed that no shutter could follow.
