A male Russet Sparrow was seen on 8 Jan and 24 Jan 2008 half way between Wun Yiu and Ta Tit Yan (near Lo Lau Uk on the Countryside Series map). More precisely, it is between an illegal dam and WSD dam.

If you are there, you will see and hear two diggers that are demolishing an illegal dam. The bird is around that corner.

The bird is not tame and with good feather condition. Looks like a wild bird to me, but not sure about the origin.

The first time to see it so close. We did not have any binoculars when saw this bird.

Agree. Feather damage on the right wing. So should be an escape bird.
