Didn't they afraid of people? How much time did they 'allow' you to take their photos?

The photos are big crops; (500mm lens and 1.4x) - the Mongooses were 35 - 40 metres away.   After a minute or so in view, they decided to get off the open road and disappeared into the long grass.

last time I saw a mongoose, it immediately ran away after it saw me. Nice work!

you must have your camera ready when walking around Mai Po
