The islands of Pond #15a(indicated in red) are used in winter by several hundred duck to roost and in late spring by breeding Black-winged Stilt.  
Originally constructed in the 1990s, the islands are now in need of substantial repair and some enhancement to maintain their attractiveness to waterbirds.
Starting from late-April, our staff will remove many of the exposed tyres, re-shape the islands and lower their overall height. The works are expected to be complete by October 2011.

#15a塘小島(紅色圈)是過百隻野鴨的冬季棲息地，亦在春末為黑翅長腳鷸提供了一個理想的繁殖位置。
小島早在九十年代建成，為了確保它們在日後仍能為眾多水鳥提供適合的棲息環境，一定的維護及改善工程是必須的。
因此，在4月至10月期間，本會的職員將會把小島周邊外露的車胎移走，並重新塑造其外型及減低高度。
