According to "The Birds of Hong Kong and South China", I think the reasons are:
1. Its alert posture looks tall.
2. Rufous cap contrasts with the white supercilium.
3. Boldly marked upperpart (separated from Temminck's Stint).
4. Pale legs (separated from Red-necked Stint).
Am I right?
