This paddy field in Long Valley was threshed earlier.  Bundles of straws were piled up in the field with the ears of grain scattered on the ground.  A chestnut-eared bunting and a yellow-breasted bunting were busy pecking at the seeds on January 31st.  They need to build up their energy for the migration journal.
