I'm not 100 % sure, but this could be an "exotic" such as Yellow-crowned Bishop (Euplectes afer), an African species.

There were mid-summer records in HK of escaped or released Yellow-crowned Bishops in the 1980s, according to the Avifauna of Hong Kong.
