I agree it is a Pygmy Wren-babbler (now Pygmy Cupwing) rather than a Shortwing.
Juvenile PWB are plainer and darker than the adult (see another here:

Juvenile Shortwings are spottier, as with other chats/flycatchers:

The absence of a tail and bill/leg structure also fit PWB better than a shortwing.
