修補基圍17及18直壆

在九月二十三日颱風期間，基圍17及18直壆其中一段被颱風引致的高水位破壞，造成三個大缺口及很多空隙，使基圍16/17的水位難於控制。為了提供潮漲棲息地給水鳥，基圍17及18直壆的損壞須要儘快修補。承包商將會用挖泥機修補圍壆缺口及空隙，承包商亦須要從保護區另一個地方運送泥到該直壆作直壆重建之用。所有工程由2008年10月6日開始，並將會在10月17日前完成。是項工程將會在星期一至五進行及不能在后海灣潮漲時進行，承包商並需遵照自然基金會的工作時間表進行工程。

Repair a section of straight bund between gei wai #17 and #18

The straight bund between gei wai #17 and #18 was damaged by high water levels resulting from the typhoon on 23 Sep 2008. Three large gaps and many small holes are found along the bund after the typhoon. This makes water-level control at gei wai #16/#17 difficult. In order to maintain a suitable water level for waterbirds, the straight bund between gei wai #17 and #18 needs urgent maintenance. The contractor will use a digger to fill all the holes and gaps along the bund, extra mud will be delivered to the site to re-build the bund as same height before the typhoon. All the works will be carried out during 6 to 17 October 2008. The works will be carried out on weekdays and at times when there is not a high tide in Deep Bay and according to the “Work Timetable” provided by WWF Hong Kong.
