Recording the location of ‘bird flocks’ - Kam Tin
From Nov 08 to Aug 09, 82 bird flocks were recorded and marked during the surveys.
16 were large size.
20 were median size
46 were small size.
Species composition is as follows:
14 were mixed species flock. They are egret flock and starling flock. The major species of flock of egrets included Little Egret, Great Egret and Grey Heron. In winter, small group of White-cheeked Starling was usually found accompanied with Red-billed Starling.
68 were single species flock. Frequently counted species were:
Barn Swallow
Red-billed Starling
Eurasian Tree Sparrow
Scaly-breasted Munia
