Wawu Shan, Sichuan. Mid July 2011

Went to Wawu Shan for a few days to get away from Hong Kong's urban heat! We saw over hundred species, the best tick is not a bird but a mammal. Yes, we saw two wild Red Pandas, one adult and the other immature!! Here are some pictures to share with you all.

Amazing trip~~
The Red Panda is a wonderful picture~~

Fantastic photos (in particular the pandas)... Looks like you enjoyed a lot of colorful warblers and parrotbills, but I would have loved to see some raptors...

Great trip and congratulation

Another great collection of pictures. Many thanks for sharing them.
Looks like Parrotbill paradise, not sure if many people have managed 5 species of Parrotbill over a weekend (- I think you meant Fulvous Parrotbill rather than Fulvetta)!
That Coal Tit looks really whacky - its the first picture I 've seen of Parus alta pekinensis - what an amazingly huge crest!
Many thanks,
Eric

Thank you all for the kind words and comments. We were very lucky to have good weather for 2 or 3 days but the rest was foggy and heavy rain!

Wawu Shan is one of the best places for ticking Parrotbills, we also saw Brown and Three toed Parrotbills but was unable to get any images. We only manage to see one Mountain Hawk Eagle at bottom of mountain, strangely there were no accipiter to be seen up at the top.

Lastly, we are truely grateful to Jemi & John Holmes, Soso and Koel for all their help.

Cheers
