Thank you for confirming that this is indeed a bird.
At one moment, I was thinking whether this could be someone wearing a grey heron costume taking a break between show times.

Hi Louislee,
The photo was taken on 16th June 2013 at Mai Po bird hide no. 3 at Gei Wai 16/17.
It was a bit quiet that day, but still saw some interesting scenes - two egrets had a terrible fight; a black drongo used the roof of bird hide 3 as vantage point and dashed towards preys inside the bush right in front of the bird hide, sometimes hovering over the bush before making the precision bite.
