[Outing] Is it OK to bring a couple 11 year old students on the Mai Po trip?

Is it OK to bring a couple 11 year old students on the Mai Po trip?

I attended the trip to Po Toi when the Great Frigatebird was sighted.  I brought along three of my students who are enthusiastic about birding.  From what I could tell nobody seemed to have a problem with them being there.  They seemed to be very well behaved.  They understand that birding is a quiet and patient activity.

They are asking about going to Mai Po on the 25th.  Just want to make sure that this is OK before I sign them up.  I am a new member and certainly don't want to be "that annoying guy who brings kids on the birding trips."

I would appreciate honest feedback.

Thanks,

Josh

hi Josh,

I am sure that won't be a problem, birdwatching is an activity for all age!! I started birding when I was about six...and my first Mai Po visit was around 7 or 8 (I can't remember)!! So, I am sure that won't be a problem!!

It is always good to see more young birders!! It is important that some of the younger generation appreciate nature.

Cheers, Matt

Students to Mai Po

Great!  That's what I figured.  They are good kids with genuine interest.  It is a lot of fun to see.

Thanks,

Josh
