It should be a white-backed munia (白腰文鳥).

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Size similar to a bulbul and tail is not pointed: it is not an munia.  I can't decide what it is, based on this photo.

Is it a possible a Hawfinch?????

Thanks for the comments...the posts are not farther apart so munia cannot be that big!

The structure of this bird just look like a Bulbul to me...But I can't work out which way it's head is facing!! Also, is the pointy bit towards the right of the bird it's beak??

The body and tail looks like Chinese Bulbul, but like others I'm struggling to work out what position the head is in (maybe preening the back?). It looks to have a heavy finch-like bill, but I think that is an optical illusion

I think that was also a Red-whiskered Bulbul too. He was scratching his back with his beak, so his crest look like his new beak in the photo.

Thank you all of you very much for helping to i.d. the bird.
