I don't understand too.  Sometimes, I can see the photos.  Sometimes, I see only the word "fotop.net".  It may be the feature of the free photo hosting web site.  However, when you click the word "fotop.net", you can bring forward the photo behind.  Try again.

Dark gull is Black-tailed (1st winter), thrush is Dusky and flycatcher is Brown.

Where is Dandong? Somewhere on the east coast I guess.

Mike, Dandong is a city in the Liaoning Province at the North-Eastern part of Mainland China, separating from North Korea by the Ya Lv River, i.e. on the east coast.  Thanks for the bird IDs.

Dick, thanks for the instructions.  Unable to bring up the link control yet.  Will keep on trying.

To introduce more about Dandong, this is indeed a very nice place for birdwatching.  We can see many waterbirds in their wetland and "Duck Green River".  They also have nice forests.  If you go in May, you can see beautiful peach trees everywhere.  If you go in late September/early Oct, you can also see red leaves.  One thing which was real amazing is that we could see Northern Korea just within walking distance!!!

I feel blessed that people I met there were friendly, contented and hospitable.  We can enjoy very nice sea food there at very reasonable price. The fried silkworm cocoons were also crispy, yummy and of high protein.

In fact, Samuel and Christine went to Dandong to join the bird festival there (for details, please see: http://www.hkbws.org.hk/BBS/view ... &extra=page%3D1)

Yalu Jiang (means "Duck Green River" in Chinese) is really a great place for seeing waterbirds. Birdwatchers in Dandong join the monthly waterbird count organized by HKBWS and from the data collected from Sep 2005 to Dec 2007, we can see that the number of waterbirds is the highest in Apr and it can reach as many as 50,000!
