There are a number of previous records of Pied Bushchat, mostly males. The species is very common in the captive bird trade and many individuals seen show some cage damage. All records are therefore considered to relate to ex-captive individuals. Coincidentally, I also found a Pied Bushchat at Nam Sang Wai last week. That bird was also a male but showed much more obvious cage damage than the individual in this photo (missing/damaged tail feathers, damaged contour feathers)
