I need help identifying this bird, at first I thought it was just a Scarlet Minivet but then looking closely I thought maybe a Short-billed Minivet. Refering to page 14 "Birds of Hong Kong and South China" by Viney, Phillipps & Lam

Looks like a Scarlet to me, the red spot above the tick can be seen though not clearly. Author: tbob Time: 6/03/2010 11:04
Thanks Mathew for the quick reply

I agree that this looks like a male Scarlet. The red in the tertials is useful for ID of these.
Out of interest, what made you consider the possibility of Short-billed? Author: tbob Time: 6/03/2010 17:50
John, Judging from the sketches on page 14 of "Birds of HK", the ammount of red breast between the throat and the wing seemed to be relatively small. I could not determine if "the red spot" was in fact on the wing or was I seeing part of the red back.

John, After going through the video frame by frame I have to agree with you that it is a spot, as indicated by arrow
