Not been out much lately, the most notable record is a Crested Serpent Eagle which have been flying around lately. However, this afternoon I heard a sound similar to that of a Great-spotted Woodpecker drumming but was much shorter. The rapid pecking noise lasted for around 1.5 second. Does anyone know if any birds (or animal) other then woodpeckers make pecking noises like this in Hong Kong?? Author: 深藍-Owen Time: 10/05/2010 20:19
frog? i'd been asking similar question before and an Amphibians expert give me this answer. Author: kmatthew Time: 10/05/2010 22:35
Thanks Owen, my fantasies brought me to a conclusion of something like a Speckled Piculet roaming around the hills of Wonderland Villas. But a fantasy shall remain a fantasy I think... Yes, frogs may well be the most probable explaination, but it was different to the usual Brown Tree Frogs call.
Anyway, A Chestnut-winged Cuckoo calling tonight, not a bad record for Wonderland Villas.
