Subject: A population of 20 house swifts in Discovery Bay, Lantau [Print This Page] Author: thinfor Time: 14/05/2010 19:23 Subject: A population of 20 house swifts in Discovery Bay, Lantau
I'd like to report that there are at least 3 bird nests built up outside the same highrise near my home in Discovery Bay, Lantau. I suppose the nests have been built for some time and they should be still active since a flock of 20 house swifts (I just identified them by naked eyes as house swifts, not likely to be pacific swifts) are being seen in recent time.
2 of the bird nests are built outside and under the bay window, above 20/F. The other one was built near the pipe at the roof of the building. The latter was not so sure since it's too high for me and I just haven't got a free time to observe them by a field scope.
I'll try to post some photos for the committee. Thanks. Author: Sze Time: 14/05/2010 23:28
Thanks for your information!
But please don't post the location of the swift nest on forum.
It is better that send those information to swift and swallow research group through email (ssrg[at]hkbws.org.hk)!
Thanks a lot!
Sze.
